Chores, jobs and allowance for kids. Fill the pouch.
Kids check off chores and pick up extra jobs on their own iPad. Parents set the allowance, log the good days and the slip-ups, and pay out at the end of the month. PocketRoo keeps the score so you don't have to.
Android, desktop or another tablet? The web app at app.pocketroo.app has the same screens.
Three steps, then it runs itself
Parents set it up
Add each kid, pick their chores and the days they are due, and set the monthly allowance and payout day.
Kids do the work
On their iPad they see Today, tick things off as they go, and pick up extra jobs for extra money.
The pouch fills
Missed chores cost a little, extra jobs add a little, and a perfect week earns a bonus. On payout day you hand over the money and mark it paid.
What kids see, and what parents see
Kids
On their iPad, or any tablet with the web app
- Today. The day's chores with big, friendly checkboxes and a progress bar that fills up.
- This week. Monday to Sunday at a glance: done, missed, or still to come.
- Extra jobs. Jobs parents post with a price. Claim one, do it, mark it finished.
- My money. This month's balance, with every line explained in kid words, and what is owed versus what has been paid.
- No account, no password. A kid's iPad is linked with a code from a parent. Kids never type in a name or an email.
Parents
On your phone, or in the web app
- Home. Every kid at a glance: today's progress, this month's balance, what you owe them.
- Notes. Log good behaviour, a slip-up, a bonus or a deduction, with a reason the kid can read.
- Approvals. Finished jobs waiting for your thumbs-up.
- Chores and jobs. Templates, days, prices, and who can do what.
- Pay out. Mark the allowance as paid in cash, by bank transfer or into savings, and keep the history.
- Settings. Family, currency, week start, invite the other parent, link an iPad, export or delete your data.
Built for early readers and for kids with dyslexia. Every chore, job, money line and history item has a speaker button, and each kid screen has a Read to me button that reads the whole page in plain sentences. It uses the iPad's own voices, so nothing is sent anywhere.
Every kid picks a buddy
A buddy is a mascot and a colour scheme for the whole app. Parents pick one when they add a kid; kids can change theirs any time by tapping the mascot.
Small celebrations
Tick a chore and a puff of confetti pops with a chime. Finish the last chore of the day and the fireworks go off, the buddy does a dance, and an "All done" card appears.
Calm by default
Sounds can be switched off from the kid's sidebar, and every animation respects the iPad's Reduce Motion setting. There are no ads, no streaks to protect and nothing to buy inside the kids' app.
One price for the whole family
Per family, after the free trial. Prices in US dollars; Apple sets the price in other currencies.

- The kids' iPad app, the parents' app and the web app
- Read-aloud, nine buddies, celebrations and the full money history
- Export or delete your family's data whenever you like

Questions parents ask
Does PocketRoo hold or move real money?
No. PocketRoo is a scoreboard, not a bank. It keeps track of what each kid has earned, and on payout day you hand over the money however you like (cash, a bank transfer, a savings jar) and mark it paid in the app. PocketRoo never holds, moves or pays money.
Does my child need an account?
No. A kid's iPad gets a code from a parent and from then on it is that kid's app. Kids never enter a name, an email or a password, and there is nothing for them to sign up to. Parents are the only ones with accounts.
Which devices does it work on?
Kids: the PocketRoo app on iPad or iPhone (iOS 17 or later), or the web app on any tablet or phone. Parents: PocketRoo Parents on iPhone or iPad, or the web app on Android, Windows, Mac or Chromebook. Everyone sees the same data.
Is there advertising or tracking?
No. There are no ads, no third-party analytics or tracking kits, and we never sell data. The full list of what we store is in the privacy policy.
Can both parents use it?
Yes. The first parent starts the family and the second joins with an invite code from Settings. Both can do everything.
What happens when a chore is missed?
That is up to you. Each kid has a penalty for a missed chore (it can be zero), and a parent can excuse a chore when there was a good reason. Every change is a line in the kid's money history with the reason written down.
How do I cancel, or delete everything?
Cancel the subscription in your Apple ID settings at any time. To remove your data, use Delete account in the parents' Settings; it deletes the whole family and its kids' iPad links. You can export everything first. See support for the steps.
